Roos Earn First Win of the Year in Waxahachie!!!!

Under the lights atLumpkins Stadium, the Austin College Kangaroos came away with their first victory of the year in a hard fought battle over the Southwest Assemblies of God University Lions with a score of  25-7.

The physical Kangaroo offensive line wore down the SAGU defense while allowing Pre-Season All-American running back Sean Sweeney to rush 30 times for a career high of 208 yards and 1 TD.

The Redshirt defense was relentless all evening, forcing the SAGU offense to turn the ball over a total of 4 times.  Sophomore Colter Headrick led the athletic Austin College secondary by picking off SAGU quarterback Reid Golson twice.

Senior kicker Andrew Klink also had a great night going 4-5 on field goals with a long of 41 yards.

The Roos would love to thank all of our friends and family who came to Waxahachie to support the team as well as those who watched or followed from home.  It was a great TEAM victory!!!

We look forward to seeing everyone back in Sherman this Saturday at noon when Austin College takes on Sewanee at Jerry E. Apple Stadium!
